Hello everyone!

In this week’s distribution you should be getting acorn squash, potatoes, carrots, beets, turnips rutabaga, sweet potatoes, onions, cabbage, garlic, Anaheim peppers, Jalapenos, tomatoes, red beans, and popcorn.

BONUS! Farmer jokes!

How did the farmer find the cow?  He tractor down.

How did the farmers get the highest marks in the math exams?  They were all pro-tractors.

What conversations does the farmer have with the cow while milking?  Udder nonsense.

Why did the farmer bury cash in his soil?  He wanted to make his farmland rich.

Why wouldn’t a farmer laugh at any jokes?  Because all the jokes were very corny.

What do you call a happy farmer?  A Jolly Rancher!

Keep warm and drive safely!

Hello everyone!

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! What a great time of the year to reflect on every thing we are thankful for. For some of us that might include: good food, good friends, a roof over our heads, family, good memories, living where we live in this beautiful state and country, our liberty, the beauty around us or simply just being alive. We are very thankful for each one of you and the opportunity to spread goodness!

Hogs and lambs–  Anyone that had a hog or lamb processed, it is now ready for pickup. If you have not, please call Valley Packing at 970-284-5589 to make arrangements with them.

Steers –  The first batch of steers is going in for processing this week on December 1st. The second batch will go in December 8th. Just a reminder if you are getting a side of beef, you will need to call Valley Packing starting at 12 noon the day they receive your steer, for more options for you. Processing should take approximately 2 weeks.

Fuji apples – If you have not notified us and you would like to have a box of apples, please contact the office by phone. The deadline to sign up for these amazing apples is by the morning of Friday December 9th. First thing that morning we will be getting in contact with Kacey from First Fruit to place our order for the following week. Each box is expected to be about 20 pounds and is $60 per box. ($3 per pound)

Summer Distribution Centers –  For those of you who were so gracious to do distribution for us last summer, we cannot thank you enough! Please let the office know if you would be able and like to do distribution again for us come 2023. We are looking for a new Distribution Center in Broomfield, and in the South Boulder areas. Please contact the office if you would like more information or are interested.

Payments –  Just a friendly reminder if you have a balance on your account, we would appreciate full payment by December 31st.  You do have until January 15th to pay at the latest. We greatly appreciate all of you, your payments and support of the farm.

As always, we hope you all are doing well and want to wish each of you a wonderful week!

Hello everyone.  Fall Greetings to you all!

This is the 3rd winter distribution of the season. This week you should be receiving  potatoes, carrots, beets, turnips, onions, leeks, cabbage, squash, kale, tomatoes and popcorn. Sounds like wonderful and yummy Thanksgiving ingredients to us! Also for those who ordered Honey Crisp apples, you should receive those also.

For those of you with younger children, maybe stringing popcorn can be a new holiday tradition.  I found this on the internet:     In America, German immigrants and German Americans largely popularized the concept of stringing popcorn as a yuletide decoration. They colored the popcorn using dyes and interspersed the garlands with nuts, fruits and other edible treats.

Fuji apples –  We are still taking orders for Fuji apples from First Fruit. We should be receiving those the week of December 12th.  Each box should be about 20 pounds and costs $60 per box.  (about $3 per pound) If you would like to order these, please email the office by the morning of Friday December 9th. First thing in the morning of the 9th, we will be calling Kacey with the number of boxes we would like.  You may also call the office with your order. I prefer an email, so I have something to print off. There is a slight chance if you leave a voice mail, it could accidentally get erased. The office does not have a cell phone but has a corded phone, with no caller id. This is why we ask for you to leave your phone number in case we can not hear your name clearly.

Linda is still trying to stay with a 7-4 schedule in the office. As always, please contact the office with any questions, concerns, input (good or bad) or suggestions.

Thank you to all of you for supporting the farm this season! We are extremely thankful for each one of you!  May the blessings of this Thanksgiving fill your heart and home with happiness! Stay Blessed y’all!

Hello everyone,

A few updates…

Honey Crisp Apples – Just a reminder that next week (the week of November 14th), we will be receiving Honey Crisp apples from First Fruit.  The boxes should be approximately 19 pounds each and $60 per box.  If you are interested, please email the office with how many boxes you would like.  We do need all requests in by this Friday November 11th, so we can let Kayce know what to deliver to us next week.

Fuji Apples –  We are expecting a shipment of Fuji apples to arrive mid December (the week of December 12th).  These boxes should be approximately 20 pounds each and $60 per box.  We will be taking requests for these up until the morning of Friday December 9th.

Lamb –  We do have half of a lamb available.  We will be sending this lamb in for processing November 14th.  The cost is $225 and the processing fee that will need to be paid to Valley Packing is $60.  The $225 will need to be paid in full to us before November 14th.  If you are interested, please either call the office or email the office for more information.

Veterans Day –  We would like to acknowledge and salute any CSA members and their families for their service in the military!  We greatly appreciate you, your dedication and commitment to all of us and to our country. Happy Veterans Day and hats off to you!

Hope you all are doing well!  Take care and have a great rest of your week!

Winter Share Fruit Update – November 3, 2022

Hello to all you lovely people – Happy November!  We hope you are all doing well and enjoying this Fall weather.

Update on Mid November’s Fruit – These offers are only available to the Winter Share members.  (Sorry Summer Share members)

This is the information we received this morning from Kayce at First Fruit:  For the middle of November’s delivery, we should be getting Honey Crisp apples.  Each box should be around 19 pounds.  These apples are $60 per box, which comes out to around $3 to $3.25 per pound.  We will be turning in the total number to Kayce first thing in the morning of November 11th so he can start preparing for our delivery.  We will not be able to accept any orders that are not in the office by that morning.  If you have already contacted the office about this delivery, we will proceed with your request unless we hear back from you with any changes.  We prefer any new orders to be made by emailing the office with your request.  Chances are slimmer that your order will be lost or misplaced compared to leaving a message on the office phone.

For the middle of December delivery, we are expecting Fuji apples from First Fruit again.  Each box hopefully will be around 20 pounds and $60 per box.  We are expecting those the week of December 14th, so once again we will need your request in by the morning of December 9th.  According to Wikipedia, Fuji apples are a great storage type of apple.  They have a very long shelf life compared to other apples, even without refrigeration.  With refrigeration, Fuji apples can remain fresh for up to a year.  The Fuji apple originated as a cross between the Red Delicious and old Virginia Ralls apples.  The name, of course is derived from the first part of the town where they were developed: Fujisaki, Japan.  (Interesting information)

~~ Thank you all for your patience and understanding when we post to the blog. I know I have caused some confusion from previous posts.  If any of you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.  I am always welcome to suggestions and critiques.  I will try my best from now on to not be so confusing.  Linda ~~

Wishing all of you a Warm Fuzzy rest of your week with many blessings!

This week is week# 2 of winter distribution.  You should be receiving:  Yukon potatoes, onions, cabbage, leeks, turnips, beets, carrots, fennel, garlic, kale, and tomatoes.  The kale maybe a little wilted due to the temperature changes this week.  If you soak it in water for about 30 minutes, it will perk up.

First Fruit – We are expecting 2 deliveries from First Fruit.  We believe each delivery will be all apples.  We are still working out the details as to how many pounds, what type of apples will be available and the cost per box.  As soon as we know, we will share to the blog .  We are expecting the first delivery the week of November 16th and the second delivery the week of December 14th.  We will need to let Kayce know our total for the mid November delivery by November 11th.  Please either call the farm and leave a voice message or you can email the office with how many boxes you would like.  No orders will be accepted after Friday November 11th for the November delivery.

Steers update – We have 1/2 steer still available.  Let the office know if you are interested in a quarter or a side.
