Monthly Archives: December 2022

Newsletter – November 29, 2022 (this week’s share)

NOTE: This blog is posted by a volunteer. No one from the farm checks or responds to messages here. You must contact the farm directly with any questions, comments, etc. Please also note that it is not possible to only receive summer share newsletters.

Hello everyone!

We hope you are all doing well and having a great fall!

December 14th will be the last distribution before our winter break starts. This distribution you will receive double the usual amount to hold you over until the next distribution in January. You should receive 2 bags. You should be receiving squash, leeks, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, beets, cabbage, onions, garlic, turnips, Daikon radish, beans, popcorn and tomatoes. That is the plan as of right now as long as everything goes well between now and next week.

Fuji Apples should also be delivered in next week’s distribution. These are from First Fruit Organic Farms. Thank you to everyone that ordered a box or more. We hope you enjoy these scrumptious apples.

Winter Break – The Farm and office will be closed for our winter break starting December 16th. We will return to normal farm business January 3rd. During this time we will not be checking emails nor voice messages.

Distribution will resume again on January 25th which is #6 of the 8 distributions for this winter. February 8th will be #7 and February 22nd will be #8, the last distribution. February sounds so far away right now, but so did December back in June when we started the summer distribution. Time sure does fly when you are having a good time!

Payments – It is suggested to pay your balance in full by December 31st due to a new year and a new distribution season approaching. However, you have until January 15th to pay your winter share balance. We will assess late fees the middle of January for any accounts that have not had any payments. You do have the option to pay in monthly installments when you sign up so payments are not as hard on the wallet at the end of the year. Please keep that in mind for future reference.

Sign Up Forms for the 2023 summer distribution season should be mailed out to all active CSA members starting the middle of January. This includes summer share members who did not sign up for a winter share this year and also members from 2021. The website will open up at a later date. We want all of our active members to be able to sign up before we open up the website for the general public. We will not take sign ups over the phone or by request through email. Please wait until you receive your sign up in the mail. We know you all are anxious to get signed up for the summer season! That is such a great feeling knowing so many of you want to sign up now and not miss out on next year!

This will probably be the last blog post for the year. We all want to wish you all a very happy holiday season with lots of warm fuzzy feelings!  May the New Year bring you bushels of happiness, good health, wonderful friends, family, memories and food!
